On April 27, 2025, ICYM Milagres Cathedral Kallianpur successfully hosted an awareness program at the church yard, focusing on family values and community bonding. The highlight of the program was a vibrant and thought-provoking street play performed by our enthusiastic youth members.
The street play commenced after the 8:00 AM Mass, in the presence of Msgr Ferdinand Gonsalves, our Parish Priest, Mr. Melwin Sequeira, the Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC), Mrs. Prema Lewis, other PPC members, and many parishioners who had gathered to witness the performance. Their presence added great encouragement and solemnity to the occasion.
The play effectively showcased the importance of building strong family relationships, emphasizing communication, understanding, and support within families. The young performers portrayed real-life situations that resonated with the audience, reminding everyone of the essential role family values play in shaping a healthy community.
Following the street play, the parishioners warmly praised the youth for their remarkable performance and the hard work they had put into preparing for the event. Many expressed their appreciation for the way the youth conveyed deep and meaningful messages through simple yet powerful storytelling.
Beyond promoting awareness, the event also fostered a stronger sense of togetherness within the parish community. It was heartening to see the collective efforts of the youth being recognized and celebrated by the entire congregation.
