Yuvasamagam 2025, the annual youth convention of the ICYM Kallianpur Deanery, was successfully organised in collaboration with ICYM Sasthan Unit on 27th July 2025 at St Anthony’s Parish, Sasthan. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth across all parishes of the deanery and served as a platform for learning, fellowship, and showcasing talents.

The programme commenced with a formal inauguration at 9:00 AM, graced by Fr Steeven Fernandes, Director of ICYM Udupi Diocese, and renowned psychiatrist Dr P.V. Bhandary (MBBS, DPM, DNB), Medical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist. Other dignitaries present on the dais included Mr Nithin Barretto, ICYM President of Udupi Diocese, as well as various animators, deanery office bearers, and youth leaders.

The inaugural session was followed by a thought-provoking session by Dr P.V. Bhandary on the topic “Silent Struggle – Suicide is Not an Option.” Addressing a sensitive and relevant issue among today’s youth, he emphasised the importance of mental health awareness, emotional resilience, and timely support systems. His talk left a lasting impact on the audience and sparked meaningful reflection.

The gathering then participated in the Holy Eucharistic Celebration, celebrated by Fr Sunil D’Silva, Director of ICYM Kallianpur Deanery, who also guided the youth spiritually throughout the event. His homily inspired the young participants to live their faith actively and courageously in today’s challenging world.

The afternoon session was dedicated to cultural expression and inter-parish bonding through competitions in skit and dance, where youth from various parishes displayed their creativity and team spirit. The performances were centred around socially relevant themes and Christian values.

It was a proud moment for ICYM Milagres Unit, Kallianpur, as they secured 1st place in the Skit Competition and were also declared Runners-Up of Yuvasamagam 2025. Congratulations to all participants and winners for their dedication and vibrant participation.

The joyful day concluded with a lively Baila dance session led by DJ Renson, where all participants came together in celebration, fellowship, and unity — a true reflection of the spirit of ICYM.

Special thanks to Fr Sunil D’Silva (Deanery Director), Mrs Alice Menezes and Mrs Ann Monis (Deanery Animators), Mr Adroy Nazareth (President), and Ms Reuel D’Souza (Secretary), whose leadership and coordination ensured the success of the event.

Yuvasamagam 2025 proved to be a day of spiritual enrichment, mental wellness awareness, cultural celebration, and youth empowerment — leaving every attendee renewed in purpose and fellowship.
