Milagres Cathedral Celebrates Annual Feast

The annual Feast of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur commenced on January 22nd. The main celebrant of the special Eucharistic celebration was Dr. Aloysius Paul Dsouza, former Bishop of the Mangalore Diocese. Msgr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, Parish Priest and Vicar of the Kallianpur Deanery, Fr. Pradeep Cardoza, Assistant Parish Priest, and Dr. Jencil Alva, Resident Priest and other 27 priests were present for the mass.

The homily during the Mass emphasized the significance of the Jubilee Year declared by the Pope, focusing on the meaning of its logo. The overarching message of the feast was the importance of unwavering faith that never despairs.
In recognition of their contributions, the Parish Priest distributed candles to all benefactors and those who supported the feast. The Bishop presented candles to the main sponsors of the Mass as a token of gratitude and blessings.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, the church priests exchanged warm greetings with parishioners in an atmosphere of joy and happiness. Parishioners enjoyed entertaining stall games and indulged in the delectable treats offered by various eateries within the church premises. Games such as Housie Housie and Wheel of Fortune were organized by the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) and the Young Christian Students (YCS). Lottery tickets were sold for the fighter cock, and the winners were announced after the draw.

The annual feast concluded on a positive note, fostering strong bonds and spreading smiles and happiness among the parishioners.
