Bishop of Udupi Diocese leads Eucharistic Adoration at Milagres Cathedral
Kallianpur : Bishop of Udupi Diocese Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo led the unprecedented Eucaharistic Adoration on Corpus Christi Sunday at 8.30pm to 9.30pm in Milagres Cathedral here. This worldwide event called by Holy Father Pope Francis on the occasion of clebration of Faithfull Year.
The Holy Father asked that this time of Eucharistic Adoration be offered especially for: For the Church spread throughout the world and united today in the adoration of the Most Holy Eucharist as a sign of unity: May the Lord make her ever more obedient to hearing his Word in order to stand before the world ‘ever more beautiful, without stain or blemish, but holy and blameless.’ That through her faithful announcement, the Word that saves may still resonate as the bearer of mercy and may increase love to give full meaning to pain and suffering, giving back joy and serenity.
Solemn Adoration consisted of Gospel readings taken from Christ’s Eucharistic discourse in the Gospel of Saint John, chapter six, along with traditional Eucharistic hymns and chants. First ordained priest as well as Asst Vicar of Milagres Cathedral Rev Fr. Mahesh D’Souza read the Gospel and the prayers.Superb Milagres choir led the Eucharistic hymns.
Bishop Gerald Issac Lobo said that after the Gospel reading in this Year of Faith, we pray to the Lord that the Church may always be a true family that brings God’s love to everyone. Sometimes we know what we have to do, but we lack the courage to do it. Let us learn from Mary how to make decisions, trusting in the Lord.Abraham in old testament says Abraham who father of faith. Bishop Gerald offered during the Adoration with the invocations with the need of the diocese and mankind. The ceremony concluded with solemn benediction with the blessed Sacrament by Bishop.
Millions of people around the world took part in an hour of Solemn Eucharistic Adoration on Sunday evening.Meanwhile large number of people across Udupi diocese took part in an hour of Solemn Eucaharistic Adoration at Milagres Cathedral at Kallianpur even though the rain. Pope Francis led the unprecedented, worldwide event from Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Catholic faithful throughout the world took part in their own Cathedrals and churches, and followed the event on television, radio, and the internet.Diocese priests and nuns of various local convents were took part in Adoration at Kallianpur.
