BA students of Milagres College, Kallianpur visits vivid places of worship

Udupi : The Humanities Association of Milagres College Kallianpur organized an education tour to BA students of the college to various places of worship in and around Udupi.


Prof. Melwin C Rego, Dean, Humanities faculty accompanied the students. The tour was organized as part of the curriculum-Religion and Society. The objective of the programme was to expose students to different religions, places of worship and rituals.


 They visited St Mary’s Orthodox Syrian Cathedral and Jesus Mary Joseph Church, Brahmavar, Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte, Kallianpur, Our Lady of Fathima Church, Perampalli, Sri Gopalkrishna Temple, Manipal, D.C Offices Complex, Rajathadri, Manipal, Sri Mahakali Temple Ambalpady, Boat Shaped new Church Stella Maris, Kalmady, Udupi , St Francis Xavier Church, Udyavara , Sri Durga Devi Temple, Kunjarugiri and  32-foot monolith of Dwaita philosopher Sri Madhwacharya statue situated on a 40-foot high plinth at Durga Hills Kunjarugiri in Pajaka Kshetra near Padubelle.


 The students were able to visit Jamia Masjid Udupi from a distance as a Nikha was taking place at the Masjid during the time of their visit. The students also had a leisure break from the tour by visiting Udupi Utsav being held at Royal Gardens, Udupi. The tour was very much appreciated by the students and faculty.
