Udupi : “There are copious opportunities ahead for the students who excel in sports’, said The Hon’ble Minister for Fisheries and Sports & Youth Empowerment, Shri. Pramod Madhwaraj.


He was addressing after inauguration of Msgr. D. J. Dennis D’souza Memorial Pavilion of Milagres College Kallianpur here on Friday, 5th January, 2018, he called upon the students to make use of the benefits provided by the Government. The state government planning to introduce adaptation for more than 1000 sports top men and women with the intention to give support from the government under Sanatha Krida Purashkar Yojana. Government’s intention has to develop the sports activities in the state.


On this occasion, Mr Ramous D’Souza, entrepreneur and the donor in Mumbai, inaugurated the renovated Gymnasium who donated rupees 2 lakhs.  The Bishop of Udupi Diocese Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isac Lobo blessed the newly inaugurated Pavilion.


Abhin Devadiga, Rohan Kotian, and Mohammed Shaad of Milagres institutions were felicitated for their outstanding achievements in sports at the state and national level.

Mrs Savitha Kumari, Principal, Milagres PU College, Rev. Fr Dr Prakash Anil Castelino- the Campus Minister, Dr Nery Cornelio & Dr Gerald Pinto, Former Principals of the college, Mr Udaya Kumar Shetty, President of PTA and Mr Salvadore Noronha, President of Alumni Association, were the chief guests.

Rev. Fr Stany B Lobo, The Correspondent, Milagres Group of Institutions welcomed the gathering. Prof. Joseph Peter Fernandes and Nisha Crasta compeered the program.

The colourful march past of the students graced the annual sports meet. Rev Dr. Prakash Anil Castelino, Dr. Nery Cornelio and Dr. Gerald Pinto former Principals of the College, Savitha Kumari Hande Principal of Milagres PU College, Udaya Kumar Shetty, PTA President, Salvadore Noronha President of Alumni Association were present on the dais.

Milagres Sister Institutions heads, Alumni Association members, and parents were present on the occasion.
