Catechism Day observed at Milagres Cathedral on Sunday.

Kallianpur : Catechism Day was observed at Milagres Cathedral here on Sunday, 24th February, 2013. The high mass was celebrated by main celebrant Rev Fr. Denis Lobo of Pilar Fathers along with Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Parish Priest and Rev Fr. Paul Prakash D'Souza.

The entire mass animated by Catechism students including beautiful choir also. During the homily Fr. Denis Lobo spcially pointed out regarding the theme and object of Catechism. Due to catechism we can preserve the faith of God almighty and catechism shall helpful during our entire life as well.Very large students were participated and offered the fruits and other things.

After the mass, all catechism students as well as their parents were gathered at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall. During the celebration of Catechism Day chief guest Rev Fr. Denis Lobo, Very Rev Fr. Stany Lobo and Rev Fr. Paul Prakash D'Souza, Eugene Rebello and Dora D'Souza Co-ordinators were present on the dais.

Princeley Lewis and Joyal Fernandes spoke about their experience of the Catechism classes and how these classes helped them in strengthening their faith and their role in the families.Prizes were distributed to students who stood first and second in each of the classes in the Catechism examinations, cent per cent attendance and those who stood first in the Catechism examination for the seventh and tenth standard students conducted by Mangala Jyothi, Mangalore.Prizes also distributed to all catechism teachers as well as priests & nuns for their support to teach catechism.

Fr. Stany B. Lobo during his speech said that catechism surely helps in our life specially teenage youths in order to keep faith in our holy religion. Now a days our youth very easily embrasing other religion will be great concern for us. He also gave gratitude to the teachers for their selfless effort to teach catechism. He also thanked the donours of Catechism Day celebration specially Flavia Menezes who donated lunch expenses and also Mrs. Joachism D'Souza for their support to celebrated the occasion.





Beautiful several plays, dances and skits were displayed by the catechism students which entertained the participants during the occasion. Earlier Joyline Fernandes welcomed the gatherings and Heeral Crasta Compeered the programme wonderfully and Anifred D'Souza proposed vote of thanks.

Lunch was served to all the participants both students and their parents and icecream was served to all the particpants as well.
