Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur celebrated Confraternity Sunday with devotion and procession


Udupi : Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur observed Confraternity Sunday which is also popularly called “Compri Fest” with devotion and grand procession on Sunday, 15th January, 2017 in preparation for the forthcoming Annual Parish Feast.

 A large number of parishioners attended the services on the Confraternity Sunday, as there were no Sunday masses. The Eucharistic mass concelebrated by Rev Fr. Anthony Fernandes parishioner priest of Edbettu ward along with Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector, Rev Fr. Wilfred Lewis parishioner priest, Rev Fr. H. Cornelio of Mount Rosary parishioner, Rev Fr. herald Mathias Superior of Pilar Fathers, Rev Fr. Prakash Anil Castelino and Rev Fr. Rolwin Aranha Assistant Parish priests.

In his homily Fr. Anthony Fernandes highlighted the significance of celebration of Eucharist, The devotion of Eucharist much needed in our divine life which will accelerate the faith in God. The Holy Eucharist helps to build the family.

Following the end of the mass, Rector of the Cathedral placed the weekly announcements and thanked all concerned of the parish as well as clergy. He thanked the visiting youths from Rourkela Diocese of Orissa state who enjoying Day in Diocese programme. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo handed over Cheryl to Oswald Cornelio and fly, donor.

The brief adoration of Blessed Sacrament was held by Fr. Anthony Fernandes. Little later the huge procession started with brass band in front, followed by the Cross and parishioners alter boys, priests through the main road of Kallianpur and entered the main gate of Ozanum Home for the Aged and eventually placed the beautifully decorated stage at in front of Miracles building. The Confraternity Sunday ended with the Sacramental Blessing on devoted parishioners.

At the end of Confraternity Sunday service, Fr. Stany Lobo handed over mementos to the visiting 16 youths from Rourkela diocese of eastern state of India. Cold drink served to all the participants at the end.
