During in his homily Fr. John Walter Mendonca briefed in record of the Divine Mercy. The mercy of the heart of God is to be seen in the remission of sin and in the visitation of his love when he comes to us. God is the tenderness of divine mercy. Jesus is good shepherd of God. God had shown his mercy to Adam and Eve for their commitment of sin. We can see God’s abundant mercy in most of the chapters in Bible. God is love, not only is he loving but he is love itself. Mercy is of the divine essence, there is no God apart from his heart and mercy lies in the heart of God. He has bound up his mercy with his existence, as surely as God lives, he will grant remission of sins to those who turn unto him.

Brief announcement placed by Very Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of the Cathedral. The Vespers’ ceremony was compered by Irene D’Souza.

After the Vespers’ evening large number of crowd were gathered at Milagres Cathedral premises. Most of the crowd expected to see the Fire Crackers show every year since several centuries followed the tradition by our forefathers. But to support severe environment pollution control, this year Fire Crackers show not took place. Devotees instead greeted each other on the occasion of annual feast day.
