88th Death Anniversary of Ven. Fr. Agnel observed at Milagres Cathedral with devotion and fervor
pi : The Society of Pilar Fathers celebrated 88th Death anniversary of Ven. Agnelo’s at Kallianpur on Friday, 20thNovember, 2015. The celebrations of 88th Death Anniversary of this holy and ascetic member of congregation, along with the devotees held at Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur, as they thank God for all the Blessings received through his intercession.
The thanksgiving High Mass concelebrated by Rev Fr. Denis D’Sa Parish Priest of St. Anthony’s Church, Kuntalnagar and Public Relation Officer of Udupi Diocese, Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Rev Fr. Valerian Mendonca Parish Priest of St Peter’s Church Barkur and Chancellor of Udupi Diocese, Rev Fr. Xavier Pinto Rector of St Anthony’s Shrine, Kerekatte and former Vicar of Milagres Church, Rev Fr. Chetan Lobo Editor of Uzwad and deanery as well as guest priests.
During in his homily Rev Fr. Denis D’Sa pointed out the life of Ven. Fr. Agnel in Goa in particular. He spread the light of the Lord and called devotees to spread the light of Lord in the World. Ven. Agnel proclaimed the life of faith to the people around and exhorted the faithful to follow in the footsteps of this saintly figure and life the life of faith with witness to Christ.
In Udupi Diocese Pilar Fathers celebrated the day along with devotees and parents of seminarians by thanking God for his Blessings and prayed for the Canonization of Ven. Agnelo. As a spiritual preparation nine days novena’s held at Fr. Agnel Mini Seminary Chapel in which good number of devotees took part.
During the mass, Choir led by Fr. Mahesh D’Souza increased the spirituality through melodious hymns with beautiful key board tunes. Around 18 priests were participated during the thanksgiving mass with large number of devotees across the diocese.
After the mass the seminarians of Fr. Agnel Mini Seminary put up a short programme in Milagres Tri-centenary Hall. Seminarians displayed their talents through singing and playing instrumental music. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo gave his gratitude words for valuable services to the Cathedral and around the neighboring parishes. The Seminarians welcomed, compared and delivered vote of thanks to all the devotees and others concerned for the celebrations of 88thBirth Anniversary of Ven. Fr. Agnelo D’Souza of Goa.
