Two days Udupi Diocesan Pastoral consultations concluded at Milagres Cathedral
Udupi : Two days Pastoral Consultation – 2015 of the Udupi Diocese concluded on Wednesday, 24th June, 2015 at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall, Kallianpur near here.
The second day Diocesan Pastoral consultation began with Prayer services by Karkal Deanery with beautiful bajan hymns and word of God. Rev Fr. Thomas Roshan D’Souza welcomed the gatherings. His Lordship Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi diocese, Rev Dr. Ayres Fernandes Executive Secretary of CCBI Commission for Liturgy, Bangaluru was the resource person as well as Moderator of the General Session and Rev Fr. Roque D’Souza were present on the dais.
Rev Fr. Stephen D’Souza Director of Liturgy & Catechism commission of the Udupi Diocese introduced the Speaker of the second day Rev Dr. Ayres Fernandes.
During the various pastoral consultations and clarifications on Liturgy and Life held. During the questionnaire by the Fr. Ayres Fernandes on how do we promote full conscious and active participation in liturgical celebrations and how would we organize a revisiting of essential liturgical documents in diocese, how is liturgical catechesis carried out in the parishes and can enhance the liturgical experience so that the mystery of Christ can be effectively revealed and transform lives. How can we promote a liturgical life of our faithful that will respond to present challenges of poverty, communication, discrimination, corruption and ecological degradation and implementation of the Pastoral Plan at the diocesan level.
At the concluding session evaluation the occasion was held. At the end felicitation program for Priests of Jubilarians was held. Bishop felicitated Rev Fr. Alexander Lewis, Rev Fr. Denis D’Sa and Rev Fr. Reginald Pinto with shawl and bouquet of flowers which felicitation program conducted by Very Rev Fr. Valerian Mendonca.
Before winding up the two days occasion, Bishop gave his concluding remarks. During the closing ceremony of the sessions along with the Bishop present on the dais were Mosgr. Dr. Baptist Menezes Vicar General of diocese, Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of the cathedral, Rev Fr. Ayres Fernandes and Rev Fr. Roque D’Souza Secretary.
Rev Fr. Roque D’souza proposed vote of thanks with gratitude. Rev Fr. Thomas Roshan D’Souza compered the second day programme. The two days program winded up with closing hymn. More than 70 priests of the diocese were present on second day of Diocesan Pastoral consultations programs.
