Fathima (Kakkunje) ward of Milagres Cathedral Celebrated Annual Fest
Kallianpur : Fathima (Kakkunje) ward of Milagres Cathedral here celebrated Annual ward Feast with devotion. During the 8am Mass on Sunday, 20th October, 2013 thanksgiving mass for ward patron Our Lady of Fathima held with main celebrant Very Fr. Stany B. Lobo. Beautiful liturgy was held with ward people participated large number during the mass. After the mass short prayer was conducted in front of the statue of Fathima situated at fortigo of the cathedral.
In the evening there was get together of ward people at Walter Cyril Pinto’s residence at Kakkunje. Very Rev Fr. Stany. B. Lobo Parish Priest, Rev Fr. Mahesh D’souza Asst. Parish Priest were present. Albert Dais One of the Senior member of the ward, Sylvia Lewis Ward Gurkar, Francis Furtado and Julius Gonsalves ward representatives were present on the dais.
Prior to the celebration of ward fest, prayers were conducted. Litanae sanctorum (Ledin) of All Saints prayer was held by the participants of larger number of ward people. This litane was conducted since very long years still in force at get together of ward people. Earlier days every month such prayer was conducted, but now since several years once in a year during ward annual feast vast and large prayers will be conducted. Ward devotees praise and thankful to their ward patroness on Our Lady of Fathima.
Various games were conducted and prizes were distributed. Fr. Stany Lobo gave his message of the feast and praised their active participation during the mass.Dinner was served to all the ward people which prepared by themselves. Reuban Dais compered the programme. Sylvia Lewis welcomed the gathered and Walter Cyril Pinto proposed vote of thanks to only ward people & the priests for the successful celebration of annual ward fest.
Ward leaders and achievers were recognized during the occasion. Dr. Nery Cornelio placed the accounts of ward and Rev Fr. Stany Lobo handed over cash to one of the sick person of the ward.
