Bishop Gerald John Mathais offered first mass at Milagres Cathedral after erection of diocese

Kallianpur : Bishop of Lucknow Diocese and parishioner of Milagres Cathedral  here Most Rev Dr. Gerald John Mathias offered his first mass on Sunday, 29th September at Milagres Cathedral after the erection of Udupi Diocese. The thanksgiving  mass for the Patron St. Vincent de Paul by the Milagres Cathedral Conference of Society of St. Vincent de Paul concelebrated by the Bishop Most Rev Dr. Gerald John Mathais of Kallianpur B Ward along with Rev Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves Principal of Milagres PU College and Rev Fr. Nelson Furtado vocational Director of Pilar Fathers.

Rev Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves during his one of the best homily address highlighted the life of St. Vincent de Paul. All the liturgical readings are related to the celebration of feast of St. Vincent de Paul which beautifully addressed during his homily.

The liturgy of the feast was conducted by brothers and sisters of SSVP and choir led by Rev Fr. Mahesh D’souza. After the end of the mass , Bishop Gerald John Mathais honoured with bouquet by Rev Fr. Mahesh D’Souza on behalf of Rector of Cathedral Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Rev Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves and all parishioners.  

Meanwhile Rev Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves also honoured with bouquet on the occasion of his Birthday celebration by Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo.

After the mass during the get together  of SSVP members and some of the adopted family members held at priests hall which attended by the Bishop Gerald Mathais and Rector the Cathedral Fr. Stany Lobo. On the occasion of patron feast Bishop as well as Rector handed over gifts to adopted members. Earlier President of the Conference Br. Richard D’Souza welcomed the gatherings. Bishop as well as Rector of the Cathedral spoke during the occasion and gave their message on account of celebration of feast of St. Vincent de Paul. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves also gave his message during the get together of SSVP members and adopted members as well.
