Milagres Institutions Management organises
Kallianpur : Milagres Institutions Management organized “Guru Namana” on the occasion of Teachers’ Day celebrations at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall here on Monday, 2nd September, 2013.
On the occasion of the celebrations Rev Fr. Valerian Mendonca Chancellor of Udupi Diocese and former Principal of Milagres College was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion he said that there is no substitute for education. Firstly, because it’s the most precious gift we can give our children. Secondly, because it’s the most critical investment in our future. And thirdly, because it’s the most effective strategy which will enable us to survive and to thrive in a changing world. Teacher’s Day is a tribute to the hard work and devotion of the teachers all year long, to educate a child.
Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Correspondent of Milagres Institutions presided over the occasion. Lesli Lewis Acting Vice President of Milagres Parish Pastoral Parished, Dr. Nery Cornelio Principal of Milagres College, Rev Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves Principal of Milagres PU College, Paul Lobo Headmaster of Milagres High School, Rev Fr. Mahesh D’Souza Headmaster of Milagres English Schools, Florine D’souza Headmistress of L.V.P. Primary School, Puttur, Sr. Susheela Monteiro Headmistress of St. Joseph’s Higher Primary School and Veera D’Silva Teacher-in-charge of Milagres English Medium Primary School were present on the dais.
Milagres College staff arranged various entertainment programs like mini skit, fashion show, singing, spot games etc. Prof Archana Dabade compered the stage program while Surekha Bhat Lecturer in Maths conducted the entertainment program and Madam Teena of MSW department conducted the spot games.
Earlier Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo welcomed the gatherings and Dr. Nery Cornelio placed the vote of thanks. More than 170 staff of Nine Milagrean Institutions were present during the occasion.
